VFD is...well, we don't really know yet. It can mean Verbal Fridge Dialogue, Very Fancy Doilies, or (though we hope it doesn't; far too ordinary) Volunteer Fire Department. Many other VFD acronyms have been mentioned throughout the Series Of Unfortunate Events, but none seem to be the definite answer. Which brings us to: is there a definite answer at all? Does Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) really have a plan for these books?
